For some strange reason I'm thinking 1 vertical mill ain't enough. Got the opertunity to get a 10X42 Gorton vari speed head,power table also. I know a lot of these had queer spindel tapers,not sure what this has,but does have a Q/C collett system on it.

There are several things to fix and. lots of cleaning to do so will be busy with this for a while. The serial number is in the 191 range.

The older Gortons, 8D, 8 1/2D and 9J's had Gorton collets or B&S 9 mostly. Some from that series will have a head that will tilt and nod as this must have been optional. The ones with this feature that I have seen appear to have a different ram. There is a Gorton web-site that is pretty good, just do a google search and it should come up.
