This is a Proxxon MF 70. I familiarized myself with it over the last couple days as I waited on my bits. I am familiar with milling. I set up a dial so I could measure better. I have the Proxxon MF70 mill. Got mine from new from EBay compleat with the vice, set of colets, rotary chuck, set of 3 cutters,and clamping kit. The cutters are excellent quality and cut very clean. And I use mine a lot. Have also brought a chuck that I can use to hold cutters or small drills.

Apparently, most of my endmills are 3.15 ~ 3.18mm, and sure enough, Proxxon mills are 3.00 mm even. Some of the collets are designed to fit a range of sizes, they are labeled on the top like this: 3.0 - 2.5. This collet will fit all the endmills from 2.50 mm up to 3.00 mm. Don't try to push 3.17mm (1/8) diameter bits!!

So in the past 18 months I have been making and selling parts I have made on the machine. It has been very good to me as a learning tool. It has made a little money.

I am using 24HS39-4204D Dual Shaft Nema 24 Stepper Motor 4.2A 4Nm (566 oz-in) 60x60x100mm with external drivers and 36V, but my conversion is a larger mill than the Proxxon I think. You would need the v2-pro to exceed 2.8A on a channel with on-board stepper drivers.
